Rhonda is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and co-founder of Avalon Counseling & Consultation. She has been working in the social services field since receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Jackson State University in 1992. Since that time she has worked in different capacities for several local agencies, including a community mental health center, homeless center, residential treatment facility and foster care agency. She received her Masters degree in Social Work from Indiana University in 2000.
Rhonda serves clients who have a variety of issues, including depression, relationship conflicts, trauma from sexual, physical or emotional abuse, grief/loss, abandonment and post-partum depression to name a few.
Rhonda believes most people are stronger than they realize, they just sometimes need help identifying their strengths. She enjoys witnessing the "aha" moments when her clients realize that they have the power to change their lives for the better and feels privileged to be a part of the process.
